Welcome to Altoona Blair County Airport.com

NEWS: Altoona-area travelers in the coming months finally will get what they have said they want for years: service to an airport other than Pittsburgh.

Recently, the Federal Aviation Administration approved a request that subsidized flights from the Altoona-Blair County Airport go to Washington Dulles International Airport rather than the Pittsburgh International Airport. The change was sought by the Altoona-Blair County Airport Authority and others.

The switch to Dulles is expected to occur in early summer. Colgan Airlines, which provides the passenger service from the Altoona-Blair County Airport has the option of retaining one flight between Altoona and Pittsburgh, but the FAA won't provide any funding should that flight operate at a loss.
